4/1/2018 : In a post from InnovationAus.com Tafe of NSW is introducing a new curriculum to include a national standard for cybersecurity training.
The aim of the curriculum developed between Box Hill Tafe and the Australian Cyber Security Growth Network is to ensure that students across Australia will receive consistent training to meet projected labour shortfalls in the field.
The cybersecurity industry is expected to suffer a shortage of 2 million professionals by 2019 worldwide as the rapidly developing field will outpace the number of professionals available to fill positions.
The program is expected to deliver on-the-job experience as well as allow participating TAFEs to form local industry reference groups to ensure the training is meeting industry needs.
TAFE colleges in other states are gearing up to lobby the federal government for funding for a national cybersecurity internship program.
